Lease Owner Operators – Run Under Houg's Authority

Houg Special Services has the formula to success for ALL Owner Operators!

Houg's program is based on running 2 trips per week within our network of freight lanes utilizing our solid year round customer base, running at least 2800 miles per week. We pay all miles utilizing PC Miler blended (an average of short vs. practical miles) - deadhead miles paid too. We calculate at 4.3 weeks per month, 50 weeks per year (Why? You need 2 weeks with your family and friends).

To qualify for this program, you will have to meet our insurance company's guidelines (minimum of 2 years recent OTR exp., no serious traffic violations in the last 3 years (speed 15+, reckless driving, DUI, etc.), no more than 2 moving violations within the last 12 months, and no DOT recordable accidents within the last 3 years.

What will I be paid?
That is always one of the first questions people ask….. Here are the highlights:

•	Contracted rate $0.85 cents per mile plus fuel surcharge – this is based 6 miles per gallon, and is adjusted weekly based on the DOE's national average.

•	We pay $50.00 per extra pickup or drop (not including the first p/u and last drop).

•	We pay $50.00 for layover, however if you have a special destination request that we do not have a reload there will be no layover pay.

•	Lumpers reimbursed with receipt (paid via comcheck, no cash out of your pocket)

•	Fuel Card issued, Fuel network discount of 5 cents per gallon if you utilize Houg's network

•	No charge for trailer usage – including reefer fuel

•	Plates and permits furnished

•	5 cent per mile bonus for running west of Colorado – Year round!

Gross income for your company = $179,200.00 per year based on running 50 weeks.

Total cost to operate your company $1.27 per mile. With fuel at $4.10 per gallon, we pay $1.28 per mile, .01 more than your cost, or $1,800.00 per year, and remember, this is after paying yourself a salary. AND ALSO REMEMBER, THESE IS BASED ON ONLY 2800 MILES PER WEEK, YOU CAN RUN MORE!

Don't forget, you will be pulling our trailers, so the trailer costs are paid by Houg – including reefer fuel!
(Remember, you will be pulling Houg's trailers, so it is up to you to be sure that you do a proper inspection, including tire pressure, reefer operation, damages to trailer, etc)
We set up .08 per mile for maintenance reserve (do you?)
Our freight lanes allow you to be through the house weekly.
